'09

2009 already. I still remember singing the lyrics "party like it's 1999" and thinking that was so far away and why would anyone write a song about something that's so far in the future like that.
Last night on New Year's I worked the night shift and amongst all the hussle and bussle, which was crazy!!!, I thought about what my year might look like. Marriage in June, house buying soon, and maybe even some baby making. Talk about hussle and bussle. It's going to be a good year. My personal goal is to be more present. To take the time to enjoy the task at hand. Engage in life. I thought about making up more goals, but I think with the events of the year, this one will prove to be far more challenging than I think.
And my craft goals, of which I have many.
1. Keep a log of all things crafted. It will be a good reference and will be fun to look back on. This entry of Elinor's made me want to do this.
2. Be more consistent posting here. Maybe not daily but most days. At least once a week. Again, it'll be a good reference of what I've completed.
3. Make my wedding dress, even though I'm not the best seamstress yet. It's something I can do and there's help available out there. I think I'll regret it if I don't at least try.
4. Make quilts. This is daunting, but again something that I know I can do. Give a few away at work to babies, too.
Alright, that's enough crafting goals for now. On the left, some crafts from 2008. Here's to many many more for 2009.

taking the blog and "Gocco" plunge
I recently was doing my daily look at blogs and ran across Erin's talking about Sara's upcoming gocco swap. Up until this point, I'd always looked at people's blogs and thought from time to time about doing this, but never gave it too much thought. The idea of getting about 50 home made cards, though, through the mail (I love snail mail), got me seriously thinking about starting to blog (I needed a blog address to participate). So... here I am. In all my crafty glory and, at times, misfortune. First up getting the gocco up and running. Post my first picture soon, which I'm hoping displays more glory than misfortune.
